Sausage and bacon rolls/sandwiches and there big breakfasts. PJ’s of Sutton Valance will be selling veg and fresh bread. East Sutton Park will be selling plants and meat. There will also be various craft stalls selling their wares. There will be a raffle. Village hall fete: Kingswood Village Hall will hold a fete on Saturday July 2 from 10am-noon. If you would like a stall then phone Val on 843110 to book. Flower Festival: The friends of Leeds and Broomfield churches are holding a flower festival on June 24-26 and are after flower exhibitors. The theme is anniversar­ies. If you are interested and would like to exhibit then phone Jenny Hoy on 861280 to book your place. Freight liner time: The freight liner due to Kingswood village hall had the wrong time printed in the village magazine and is 1.40-2.30 on Saturday, April 30. This will be the last one to the village as the borough council will be stopping this service. PARISH COUNCIL: Excerpts from the meeting on March 21. Policing February 19 to March 19: March 6, criminal damage in Cayser Drive; February 24, burglary at Gravelly Bottom Road; February 23, burglary at The Walk; February 22, theft of vehicle in Gravelly Bottom road and nuisance anti-social behaviou on March 3 in Cayser Drive. The parish council was to contact the pre-school following its submission of a business plan, regarding contributi­ons towards the rent of the village hall. Rubbish at Gravelly Bottom Road: Cllr Hoy had received correspond­ence about the amount of rubbish and, although in Langley parish, it was affecting residents. The handyman was asked to contact the new land agents and arrange clearance. The annual parish meeting and annual parish council meeting will be held on Monday, May 16. Admission 50p to include tea or coffee. Almshouses trustees’ meeting: Yalding Almshouses trustees met last Monday evening. Despite turbulent financial markets over the past year, expert financial administra­tion has maintained healthy funds for the trust. Interior refurbishm­ent of some of the properties was carried out in 2015, including the complete redecorati­on of one property prior to a new tenant arriving in November. The trustees were pleased to hear the new tenant has settled happily into her new home. They also discussed plans for further maintenanc­e over the coming year. UKPN maintenanc­e: UKPN has been carrying out essential repairs and maintenanc­e to overhead electrical power lines in the parish. Letters informing residents of the planned power outage indicated that power would be restored by 4.30pm on the designated day. In some cases, however, residents were without until 7.30pm.
