The provision of yellow lines on the corners in the centre of the village and the extension of the 30mph speed limit in Chart Hill Road have both been approved and the work is due to be carried out in the near future. Councillor Hotson agreed to look into three complaints from residents.: Damage caused by lorries to the highway in Brishing Road. A request for a footpath to the village along Plough Wents Road will be readdressed although Highways have previously turned this down. During recent roadworks in Plough Wents Road, diversions were via Norton Road and as a result the road has been severely damaged. Requests from a resident to Highways have not been met with a satisfactory response so councillor Hotson will investigate. In view of the recent incident whereby a lorry got stuck at the junction of Chart Hill Road and Chart Road, there will be a request put forward for “No HGV” signs to be placed on certain roads within the village. A request was made to councillor Hotson for assistance with the purchase of flashing speed indicator signs in the hope that these will deter speeding motorists.
