Come along for lots of fun and for a chance to win one of the many fantastic raffle prizes. The Mayor of Maidstone will be visiting the fair and will complete the raffle draw with Headteache­r Mrs Olivier. There will be many exciting stalls and activities including a bouncy castle, face painting, a fire engine, bowling and quad bike rides for children to name a few. In nine workshops over the course of the year we will be looking at nine different sections of scripture, in order to unlock the various ways in which the Bible is meant to be read and applied. Public Engagement Meeting: On Sunday July 3rd starting at 10.30am, there will be a Police public engagement meeting held at Mote Park by the cafe. Bike marking. Dragon Boat Race: An annual dragon boat challenge staged by the KM Charity Team to help charitable groups with their fundraisin­g will be held on Sunday July 3rd in Mote Park. Teams of 11 compete with one of the crew beating a drum to dictate the pace of the paddles. They take part in a minimum of three races but the fastest teams compete in the finals at the end of the day. You may have up to 17 rowers in your squad, so fill all 17 spaces to raise more money and everyone will have at least 2 races on the day. It costs £425 to book a boat online and crew members are asked to raise as much as they can for their chosen charity or good cause. It is a challenge for those who wish to savour the ancient traditions of the dragon boat, as much as for those who want to test their strength and rowing technique by travelling across the 250m course in the fastest time. It is also a day for spectators as well as for people taking part. Wind Symphony: The Wind Symphony presents “Journey To The Centre Of The Earth” on Sunday 3rd July from 3pm to 5pm at All Saints Church, Mill Street. The finale concert to Maidstone Wind Symphony’s season of musical storytelli­ng, showcasing three talented soloists from within the band. Music Genres: Classical. Saints v Sinners: This year the annual Saints v Sinners Cricket Match is on Sunday 3rd July at Marden Cricket Club - the Unicorn pub and the church will be raising money for the Air Ambulance and the church 3Ts Fund. There will be a bar, BBQ, tea and cakes and ice cream. Also great raffle prizes. The event will start at 1.00pm with cricket starting at 2.00pm., Marden in Bloom: Judging Day is Wednesday 13th July and everyone is invited to clear up, weed their gardens, hanging baskets, clear up litter, all to make Marden’s first year in this Competitio­n as successful as possible. Thursday Club: On July 7th there will be Bingo at 2.00om to 4.00pm in the Village Club. On 21st August Carol and Lynsey are hosting a Garden Party at 2.00pm in Thorn Road.
