Tributes from devastated family after shock death
The dad of a popular car salesman who died from a suspected heart attack, aged just 20, has paid tribute to his “perfect son”.
Daniel Dunmill collapsed and died at his family home in Wateringbury on Sunday.
Paramedics were called, but were unable to save the former Oakwood Grammar School pupil.
His girlfriend, Brooke Tudor, who was with him when he died, said: “I’m so heartbroken that he has been taken from me, however he will remain in my heart forever.”
Devastated friends have organised a memorial at Mote Park today (Friday).
Moving tributes have been pouring in for a popular 20-yearold who died following a suspected heart attack.
Daniel Dunmill died at home on Sunday, exactly a week before his 21st birthday. His death is being treated as unexplained.
He leaves behind parents Mark and Dawn, both 55, and brother Adam, 22. His father said: “He was just a young lad, laughing and joking with his girlfriend, and then this happens.
“From the moment he was born he lit up our lives. He was the perfect son and did us proud.
“He was kind and always the first to help someone in trouble, he didn’t think twice about it.” Mr Dunmill’s heartbroken girlfriend, Brooke Tudor, said: “He was just a complete gentleman.
“He was loved by anyone and everyone. No one ever had a bad word to say about him because there was simply nothing bad to say, he was honestly the loveliest man going.”
Following his shock death there was an outpouring of grief on social media, with friends paying tribute to the former MidKent College student, who attended Oakwood Park Grammar School, Maidstone.
He was described by others as a happy-go-lucky guy who always had a smile on his face.
Mr Dunmill, of Maidstone Road, Wateringbury, studied public services at college and was hoping to join the Royal Marines, but was ruled out by a knee injury. He worked as a barman at The Swan in West Malling until last summer, when he became a sales executive for Mitsubishi at Humphries and Parks in West Malling and then the Rochester branch.
Dealership owner Marcus Joy said: “Dan was a real gentleman despite his tender years, the sort of lad that anyone would be proud to have as their son-in- law. He was warm, friendly and a natural salesman, his customers loved him as he would always go the extra mile to help them in any way he could.
“He will be sorely missed by everyone that knew him.”
An evening of remembrance is being held for Mr Dunmill, with Chinese lanterns being released at Mote Park from 8.30pm tonight (Friday).
