Hog roast, Pimm’s tent, cake stall, teas, toys, bric-abrac and books stalls, live music, plants stall and more. Free entry. All profits will go to the upkeep of the church. Goddington Lane: Due to changes to a constructi­on programme, the surface treatment works due to start on July 18 have been postponed. Highways are planning to reschedule these works for later this summer/autumn. Yellow advanced warning signs will be erected on site and informatio­n leaflets delivered to properties/businesses fronting Goddington Lane and Holm Mill Lane prior to the newly programmed start date. Hanging baskets: The closing date for the Harrietsha­m in Bloom hanging basket competitio­n is Friday, July 15. Applicatio­n forms need to be handed in by then. Rule Britannia, Jerusalem, Land of Hope and Glory – all the favourites – were there at the Maidstone Choral Union’s summer prom concert. It was held at the town’s All Saints’ Church in Mill Street on Saturday. The choir was joined by Kent Craft and chat: The next meeting of the group is on Saturday, July 9 from 1-4pm in the Booth Hall. The project will be fabric flowers. The owners have developed their beautiful garden over 13 years within a former field of Hollingbou­rne Manor. The well-designed garden, sloping down from the North Downs, has stunning views and leads the visitor under a rose clad pergola, via a secret garden and past rich mixed borders. A shady grotto provides a cool space to take a rest. The heated swimming pool will be open (but unattended) for those who wish to take a plunge. There will be plants and teas on sale. Entry by donation. Parish council: The next meeting is on Monday, July 11 at 7.30pm in the Cardwell Pavilion. Shop and cream teas: The Pop-Up Shop will be at Bishops Cottage, Bishops Lane on Sunday, July 10 from 3-5pm, with all the regular local produce as well as eggs, berries and rhubarb plus plant and craft stalls. All welcome. Running alongside will be cream teas in the garden at £5 per head – book with Sue or Steve on 01622 820403. Parking is available at the junction of Water Lane and Bishops Lane. Trackdogs: A rollocking trumpet led four-piece band from Madrid, Trackdogs, will be coming to Hunton on Sunday, July 24 ,for an al fresco evening of fun, dance and music. They will be playing at the King George V Playing Field in West Street with the bar opening at 6pm and music from 7-9pm.
