Jacob Scott, an archaeologist working at Rochester Cathedral, has photographed the many ancient features of this beautiful medieval church and transformed them into 3D models which, with the aid of a smart phone and 3D glasses, can be viewed from every angle. Many images are of parts of the church not normally accessible to visitors, such as the bell tower and tower room. Jacob will explain the technology and modern interpretation methods which can be used on an ancient church. He has used these techniques on many cathedrals and castles, but this is the first church which makes this occasion special. There will be an opportunity for everyone to experience the 3D imaging at the launch after which it will be available for all future visitors. The afternoon will finish with tea and refreshments and an opportunity to talk informally with Jacob.
