Pop in for a pint and Pokémon

-

A 500-year-old pub has joined the 21st century by becoming a PokéStop.

Players of the online game Pokémon Go can now collect items including eggs, PokéBalls and potions at The Ringlestone Inn in Harrietsham.

Its status as a PokéStop also means there are lots of Pokémon in area to be caught.

Christina Warren, 53, is the pub’s landlady and jumped at the opportunity to become a hub for players of the game, which has proved very popular since its release last week.

She said: “We thought it would be quite a good idea. We are the only ones around here that do it.”

The Ringlestone Inn is yet to see any visitors come specifically for the PokéStop but Ms Warren and Kevin De Young, who she runs the pub with, have been testing out the game.

Ms Warren added: “Come in and catch a couple of Pokémon and enjoy the game and the pub.”

The pub also has Wifi that Pokémon hunters can use while trying to catch them all, and it will be dropping lure modules, which bring more Pokémon to the area, every day except Tuesday.
