Maidstone’s Luke Savill represented England in several categories at the European Youth Championships in Zagreb.
He lost to Luxembourg’s Ademir Balaban in the first round of the junior boys’ singles but made it through four rounds of the consolation Plate event.
In the boys’ doubles, Savill and Alex Ramsden were knocked out in the second round by a Hungarian pair.
Savill teamed up with Heleen Hop, of the Netherlands, in the mixed doubles and they made it through qualifying only to lose in the next round.
The team event saw Savill play alongside Ramsden and Tom Jarvis.
Victory over Poland in their opening match was followed but two defeats, which meant England couldn’t qualify for the main play-offs.
But after losing to Greece, they saw off Switzerland, Israel, Sweden and Austria to finish 17th in the overall standings.
