Harris off the mark with fifth

-

Antony Harris picked up his first points of the season at 4T+ Velo’s round of Crits in the Park.

He was fifth in the 4th category race at Gravesend Cyclopark, while Ollie Reeves and Ian Vagg finished in the bunch and Steve Gibson punctured with two laps to go.

Vagg and Reeves returned for the 2/3/4 and Regional Junior Road Race Championships at Benenden alongside Neil Lauder and Stuart Featherstone.

The fast pace saw a starting group of 60 riders reduced to 30 by the finish but Lauder was there to claim third place with Vagg and Reeves eighth and ninth respectively.

Lauder smashed his personal best at the PMR Open 10-mile time trial series on the Q10/1 course.

Looking to go under 21 minutes, he clocked a fantastic 19min 45sec and then went even better in his next ride, crossing the line in 19.17 to finish second overall.

At the Spring in the Park race, Josie Kelly was second girl and 14th overall while Matilda Collins’ sixth place left her fourth in the sandings. Ella Baker finished sixth in the under-14 category and Nate Oldfield is joint fourth in the series standings.

Kelly, who also competed at Crystal Palace, is ranked 30th in the national standings.
