Keep your eye on the skies over Maidstone on Sunday and you may spot a flypast by the famous Red Arrows.

The world- renowned RAF aerobatic team has agreed to fly over the home of 12-year-old charity fundraiser George Abrehart.

George, a pupil at Sutton Valence School, is organising a Campfest in his back garden, to raise cash for Children In Need.

He has 51 friends and family, each paying £20 a tent to pitch up for the two-day festival.

George’s mum Carol explained: “This will be the third camping festival George has organised.

“Each time he has written to the Red Arrows asking if they could do a flyover; This year, a little to our surprise, they said yes.”

The Red Arrows are set to appear at the Herne Bay airshow that afternoon and have agreed to visit George en route, probably around 2pm, although the family are waiting to be notified of the exact time.

But the flypast is only one aspect of the entertainment that George has organised.

There will also be music from his band, the Musical Maniacs, in which he plays drums and his sister Beth sings, and a separate talent contest for his guests.

In addition, his patrons will enjoy a barbecue, a treasure hunt and a dip in the family pool.

George’s first Campfest raised £358 for Children In Need; the second raised £700.

This year he is hoping to top the £1,000 mark.

George was inspired to organise his own festivals after attending the 2012 Chris Evans CarFest for Children In Need at Laverstoke Park Farm in Hampshire.

Although he was only eight at the time, he turned to his mum and said: “I want to organise a festival like this next year!”
