YOURLOCALWeather
lester.gosbee@btinternet.com Today (Friday): Many places have not seen rain since August 2, and that constitutes a drought. Having said that, rain will move into most parts during the day, with possibly even the odd rumble of thunder. Low pressure will be in charge. It will be unusually windy for the time of year with 30mph winds along the south coast from the south west. Temperatures will be at 21C (70F) at best. Tomorrow (Saturday): Another very unsettled day with some heavy showers, again possibly thundery. There will be some brief sunny spells, improving by evening. It will be windy again from the south west, 25mph in places. Temperature 22C (72F) in bright spells. Sunday: A much better day, with just isolated showers, but good sunny spells. Winds will turn north westerly, so feeling fresher with winds at 8-12mph and temperatures of 20C (68F). Monday to Wednesday: Staying in a cool north westerly with partial cloud and some nice sunny spells as high pressure tries to take control. There will be some chilly nights down to 7C (45F) in the Weald. Day temperatures will be around 20C (68F). Quite pleasant in the sunshine. Thursday: Winds will be back to the south. We should become under the influence of the Continental high, so warming up. A good omen for the Bank Holiday weekend, as predicted in my long range weather forecast, which I wrote on 12th June. Let’s hope I do not have to eat humble pie!
