Zippers’ team triumphs

Zippers Bowling Associatio­n took on Headcorn Bowls Club on Sunday and won by seven shots. In the process £503 was raised for the charity, up on the £410 last year. The group is made up of players from across Kent who have undergone invasive heart surgery. All the money raised goes to buy equipment for heart units across the county. Once a national charity, Zippers now exists in Kent, kept alive and thriving by Vic and Pat Powell of Folkestone. unique events for you and your dog to get fit and have fun. Mote Park’s Dog Jog is on Saturday, August 27 at 2pm. Each event offers a relaxed and fun atmosphere with no times and no pressure. The events are also a great opportunit­y to meet like-minded dog owners in the area. Plus what’s more, when you cross the finish line you’ll receive a doggy bag jam-packed with goodies for both you and your dog, as well as a Dog Jog Collar keyring medal! Dog Jog is all about getting involved, having fun and enjoying the great outdoors with your favourite fourlegged friend. Live music: The band Bad Pandas will be playing at Earls, 30 Earl Street on Saturday, August 20 from 8.30pm. Go Tri event: The events will take place using facilities at the leisure centre and the surroundin­g Mote Park on Monday, August 22 from 7pm.
