China honours ex-curator
Maidstone Museum’s former curator Dr Ed Jarzembowski has been awarded China’s Jiangsu Province’s highest award for foreign experts.
The fossil enthusiast left his post during cuts in 2012 and as visiting professor has since worked with colleagues at the Chinese Academy in Nanjing to discover many new species from the age of the dinosaurs.
Now the palaeontologist has been handed The Jiangsu Friendship Award in recognition for his accomplishments.
Dr Jarzembowski said the provincial government in Liaoning has recently helped found a new museum there.
