Problems with rubbish collections

-

Fed-up residents continue to complain to Maidstone Borough Council about overflowing piles of rubbish after around 1,000 properties were missed from a recent bin collection.

On Tuesday last week, waste contractor Biffa suffered a number of “operational issues”, including broken-down vehicles, resulting in some houses not being visited. A council spokesman said most bins not collected were taken the following day.

They said: “The roads most affected by recent delays in the bin collection service were Loose Road, Boxley Road, Sutton Road, Tonbridge Road and Willington Street. We’re pleased to say the majority of the residents in these roads had their bins collected the next day. The council and Biffa are committed to resolving any issues as quickly as possible to minimise the inconvenience.”

If your bin has been missed, report it at www.maidstone. gov.uk.
