Ex-England star attends charity game
Former England and Chelsea star Kerry Dixon was the guest of honour at a charity football match at Maidstone United’s Gallagher Stadium.
He joined hundreds of fans who came through the turnstiles in James Whatman Way to watch the clash, which included a team of Waitrose staff versus the Les Apps Legends on Sunday.
Jamie Houston and former Maidstone boss and manager, Terry Cordice, both scored hattricks in the match, which ended 7-2 in the Legends’ favour.
The game, which was followed by a raffle, raised more than £1,000 for Breast Cancer Care.
Organiser Les Apps said: “It was a great day and a lovely atmosphere, with everyone shaking hands and getting into the spirit.
“I want to thank everyone who made Sunday what is was, particularly those who donated raffle prizes and the guys at Waitrose.”
