lester.gosbee@btinternet.com Today (Friday): We will still be under the Continental Spanish plume, but the real heat will be tapering off. There will be lots of sunshine, but also some cloud. There will be a small risk of a local home-grown thundery shower. Winds will be easterly at 2-5mph with temperatures at 25-27C (77-81F), fresher on the east and south coasts. Tomorrow (Saturday): High pressure will be hanging on, bringing a fine day with lots of sunshine throughout, but only a small amount of fair weather cloud. Winds will be south easterly at 3-8mph with temperatures at 28-30C (82-86F), so still locally hot. Sunday: A weakening cold front will bring us a spell of thundery rain for a few hours. It will be fine both sides of the wet spell. Winds will be south westerly at 4-10mph and temperatures at 23C (73F). Bank Holiday Monday: Not a day of unbroken sunshine, but there will be good spells of sunshine and some cloud at times. It will be dry and good for all events, including for visits to the coast. Winds will be southerly at 2-6mph with temperatures at 25C (77F), which is 4C (7.2F) or more above normal for the time of year. Tuesday to Thursday: Staying fine and pleasantly warm at 24-26C (7579F) in light, sometimes variable wind. September 1 is the first day of autumn in meteorology. This will start on a warm note.
