Hill make move towards title as rivals stumble

Kings Hill took a big step towards winning Championsh­ip East on a day when title rivals Staplehurs­t slipped up.

They’re 19 points clear with two games left after an eightwicke­t victory over Nelson.

Mohammed Cowdhury (4-13), Jancan Adams (2-8) and Ben Entacott (2-10) did the damage as 10-man Nelson collapsed to 51 all out.

The leaders lost both openers before easing home in 10.4 overs.

Second-placed Staplehurs­t were bowled out for 150 in a four-wicket defeat by Cobham.

Leybourne climbed out of the bottom two in Division 1A West after beating Gravesend RF by four wickets.

Jake Bacon (4-25) and Chris Slater (3-37) bowled well as the hosts were dismissed for 142.

Jake Rose (65 not out) led Leybourne home.

But Snodland Community are relegated following defeat by Gravesend 3rds.

James Miller took 3-10 as Gravesend were held to 190-8.

But three ducks in the top four set the tone and Snodland were all out for 85, beaten by 105 runs.

Captain Mike Donnelly scored an unbeaten 101 in Headcorn’s Division 1A Central victory over The Mote 3rds.

His innings featured 15 fours and three sixes and clinched a two-wicket victory after Rob Mansell (4-34) helped dismiss The Mote for 195.

Hunton Wanderers dropped into the bottom two after losing to leaders Milstead.

David Brown (35) and Paul Bushell (30) led a middle-order fightback but they were bowled out for 128 in reply to 220- 6, beaten by 92 runs.

Holborough Anchorians are top of Division 1B Central with two games remaining.

Joe Guenigault (2-7) was one of four bowlers to claim two wickets as nine-man Rodmersham were dismissed for 102.

Aneil Landa led Anchs to a seven-wicket success, scoring 41 not out from 39 balls.

Leeds & Broomfield missed the chance to go top of Division 1A Central, losing to bottom side Deal Victoria.

Daren Hunt (43) and Tom Millington (41 not out) saw Leeds to 164-7 but Deal completed a six-wicket success with two balls to spare.

Steven Wright took 5-3 for Staplehurs­t 2nds as the Division 2B Central leaders beat Sheppey 2nds.

He cleaned up the middle order and tail as Sheppey were bowled out for 95.

Chris Watts (53 not out) guided Staplehurs­t to an eight-wicket win.

Rumwood lost second place to opponents Gravesend 4ths.

The Maidstone side bowled out their hosts for 119, thanks to 4-21 from Jordan Austin.

Austin (32) was the only man to make double figures as Rumwood collapsed to 72 all out in reply and defeat by 47 runs.

Holborough Anchorians 3rds beat Hunton Wanderers 2nds by four wickets in Division 2C Central.

Ashley Maguire made 73 and Matt Jones 53 in Hunton’s total of 198-5. Afeef Mirza (54) set up Anchs’ victory.

Headcorn 2nds were bowled out for 91 in a 126-run defeat by a Sherwood side who made 217- 5.
