Centuries just missed but big win assured
Two Linton Park players fell just short of centuries in a big Division 2 victory over Dymchurch.
James Piper (98) and Adam Jackson (96) led Linton to 323- 4.
They won by 132 runs, with eight-man Dymchurch 191 all out.
Detling lost to Woodchurch by 35 runs.
Luke Garety took 4-27 as Woodchurch were bowled out for 176 but 10-man Detling fell short on 141.
Leeds & Broomfield pushed Harbledown in a high-scoring Division 1 game.
Monte McCague (48) and dad Martin McCague (43) led the chase in reply to 261- 8 but Leeds closed 15 runs short on 245- 8.
In Division 3, Alex Rolfe (75) and Andrew Rimmer (66) helped Addington Village to a winning total of 224.
Aldington were bowled out for 192 in reply, beaten by 32 runs.
Ten-man Town Malling posted 160 in an eight-wicket defeat by Bredgar. Bearsted lost to Holcombe & Blue Bell Hill by 27 runs.
Gareth Oakland hit a steady 54 but Bearsted, playing a man down, were all out for 169 in reply to 186.
Tom Davey made 106 as Staplehurst beat Selsted.
Davey’s side closed on 247-5 then held Selsted to 182-9 to win by 65 runs, Mark Jeffery with 4-30.
Hunton Wanderers moved above opponents Charing into second in Division 4.
Jack Hart took 3-25 as Charing closed on 149-7.
Captain Dan Taylor (36) set up a five-wicket success.
Akhil Balagopal starred as Harrietsham beat Norton by 34 runs.
He top scored with 49 in a total of 178 then took 3-1 in his only over as Norton closed on 144- 8.
Steve Waite (45) and Sam Carpenter (43) batted well but Blue House were bowled out for 160 by a Kingsnorth team who won by 38 runs, having posted 198- 6.
Kings Hill moved closer to Division 5 promotion with a 147-run victory over Bobbing Court & Lower Halstow.
Openers Gary Jackson (105) and David Sutton (81) led Kings Hill to 311- 4, with Bobbing 164 all out.
Mark Christmas (70 not out) saw Linton Park 2nds to a seven-wicket victory over Harbledown 2nds who closed on 153-7.
Holborough Anchorians are on the verge of promotion from Division 6.
They beat Horton Kirby by 41 runs, posting 165 before bowling out the visitors for 124.
Loose & Leeds put up another good fight in Division 6.
Peter Kenward top scored with 87 as winless Loose reached 223-9 in reply to 258-3 from Hythe Green. Green won by 35 runs.
