Russell nets late Bears equaliser
Southern Counties East
A late Ashley Russell strike salvaged a point for Bearsted in a 3-3 draw with Fisher in the Southern Counties East Premier Division last Saturday.
Bearsted led Fisher twice but trailed with a minute to go before substitute Russell headed home a Graeme Andrews cross.
Keenan Mooney had put the home side in front on 16 minutes, latching onto Andy Foster’s pass and finishing emphatically.
Nine minutes before half-time, Scott Watson headed against the bar for Fisher and Tyrell McLeod-Bentley nodded in the rebound.
Bearsted, though, led at halftime thanks to a simple finish from Bradley Webb after some neat build-up.
Trey Williams equalised for Fisher midway through the second half and Bearsted then trailed to an Isa Hussein free-kick before Russell’s late intervention.
Bearsted visit Cray Valley tomorrow (Saturday) before hosting Lordswood on Bank Holiday Monday (both 3pm). Bearsted: Taylor, Foster, Lyall, Andrews, Perkins, Holliday, West, Brown ( Cox), Mooney, ( Russell), Webb, Flisher ( Grant). Attendance: 65.

Tom Cackett opened the scoring on 15 minutes, converting David Sherwood’s through ball.
Sherwood linked up with Aaron Chilies to make it 2- 0 and then scored from the penalty spot after Chilies was fouled.
Two yellow cards saw Meridian’s Scott Mulholland dismissed although they pulled a goal back before half-time through Nathaniel Ward.
The visitors were back in it when Chris McGinty scored a penalty nine minutes into the second half but Cackett restored Snodland’s two-goal cushion.
Another penalty, again scored by McGinty, made it 4-3 and set up a nervy finale but Snodland withstood late Meridian pressure.
Snodland are away to Holmesdale on Saturday before hosting Eltham Palace on Monday.
