Smiles galore over rewards for all their hard work
Pupils proudly brandished their results papers aloft at Valley Park, St Augustine Academy, Maplesden Noakes, and the New Line Learning and Cornwallis academies.
Students at Valley Park School were celebrating another outstanding set of GCSE results. 58% of students getting the gold standard of A*-C passes in both English and Mathematics.
Top achievers were Niamh Ellen, Amy Marks, Charlotte Beale, Megan Riley, Anastasia Egorova, Bree Hayward, and May Oney who all achieved at least 6 A and A* grades.
Out of the 115 students who sat the exams at New Line Learning Academy 43% secured A* to C grades, while at Cornwallis Academy 232 students sat the exams and 49% achieved the of five A* to C passes, including English and Maths, which is an 11% increase on last year’s results. Overall, 61% achieved A* to C grades.
At St Augustine Academy apprehension turned quickly into smiles for the 102 Year 11s at St Augustine Academy after a 12% increase on the number of last year’s students achieving five A* to C grades including English and maths.
Paige Lutman-Manley, 16, from Maidstone received an A in further maths and a B in Spanish.
She said: “In those subjects I did much better than expected. Overall I got four As and an A* which was in science. I’m going to study A-levels in maths, further maths, politics and sociology. Studying was tiring, time consuming but worth it.”
At Maplesden Noakes school, 56% of its 174 Year 11s achieved a good pass in at least five subjects, with 82% receiving an A* to C in English and 65% gaining a C or above in maths..
Among the outstanding students deserving of a mention were Sammi Ta with 10 A*s and two As, Zak Allam with seven As, two Bs and three Cs and Rukiya Choudhury with four A*s, five As and three B grades.
