Tomlinson wins with time to spare

Tomlinson finished in 40min41sec, more than a minute ahead of secondplaced Adrian Perkins (42.59), who was one of five Maidstone Harriers in the top 10 at Capstone Park.
Tom Allen was third in 43.18 while the remaining Harriers to impress were Jason Gardiner (fifth, 44.54), Richard Ellison (sixth, 45.15), Graham Clarkson (eighth, 48.20) and David Thornby (10th, 49.15).
The women’s winner was Julie Stoppani, whose time of 50.02 also saw the Maidstone Harriers runner finish 12th overall. Other prominent finishers included M& M’s Mo Fazakerley (52.19) and the Rebel Runners pair of Sally Fry (52.37) and Jane Blunsten (53.30).
Amy Weedon (59.10) and Lisa Wild (59.27) helped Rebel Runners to the ladies’ team prize.
The supporting 5K race was won by Istead & Ifield Harriers’ Simon Parrin (23.00), more than five minutes clear of Rebel Runners’ Lucien Moreton (28.47) and fellow Rebel Claire Peppiatt-Wildman, who was third overall and first female in 29.45.
