Bathtime at a Grafty Green hotel just got serious.

Boutique bed and breakfast Who’d A Thought It has invested in new rooms – one complete with a £60,000 tub studded with Swarovski crystals.

The roll-top cast-iron bath, which is embedded with 60,000 hand-applied gemstones and took eight weeks to complete, is taking centre stage in the new £375-a-night Ace of Spades suite.

And if that’s not enough crystal, you can add a pair of Swarovski earrings to your booking for £30.

It is the creation of jewellery designer Leigh-Anne McCague, sister of the Headcorn Road hotel’s owner, Joe Mallett.

He said: “It was inspired by a £150,000 bath she saw in Harrod’s.

“It took her a couple of months to apply the five different sizes of crystal but it just looks stunning – very blingy.

“Every room we have is different so this gives our Ace of Spades suite its wow factor.”

Complete with two private hot tubs and own bar, it is one of six new rooms to open at the luxurious lodgings, where rates range from £70 to £475 per night.

The others include the LP Alexandra, a Versace-inspired room with two hot tubs, and the Pol Roger, decorated in wall-to-wall white and zebra print.

Construction on the new rooms has taken 14 months and the last one is expected to be open in the next few weeks.

Mr Mallett added: “We decided to expand because demand for our existing rooms was so high.

“The idea behind the smaller rooms was to make a night at the hotel something everybody can afford. We’re also looking to encourage more people to stay during the week with a membership scheme.”

The establishment, which boasts ceiling mirrors, animal print decor and rooms each named after champagnes, has featured on Channel 4’s Four In a Bed and Channel 5’s The Hotel Inspector in 2011 and 2013.

It was also named the funkiest bed and breakfast in the UK in 2013-2014.
