Having a ball to remember Hayley

-

A charity ball raised more than £10,000 in the memory of a brave mum who lost her fight to cancer earlier this year.

Around 250 guests attended the glitzy fundraiser, at Barling Farm in East Sutton, which was hosted by Queens Head Oddfellows Fund (QHOF), based at the pub of the same name in Sutton Valence High Street. The group was raising money for Hayley’s Heroes, which helps young adults affected by cancer, by giving a helping hand such as short breaks away.

The charity was set up by 31-year-old Hayley Martin, of Loose Road, who tragically died of bowel cancer in January.

QHOF also raised £3,500 at the turn of the year with its New Year’s Day pram race in Sutton Valence.

Emma Stafford, one of the charity’s trustees, said: “From the bottom of our hearts, we can’t thank the QHOF and those at the ball enough for their ongoing support and dedication.”
