Man urinated in car park at station
A man who dropped his trousers and urinated in front of families outside a packed station will have to wait to learn his fate.
Anthony Short polished off a litre of vodka before going to Maidstone East at 10.50am on Saturday, September 3, then relieved himself in the disabled car park after being kicked out.
Shocked onlookers called police and the recruitment boss was arrested and charged with exposure – a sexual offence.
Maidstone Magistrates’ Court heard the father- of- two had slipped into alcoholism after his relationship broke down and his company went under.
Pleading guilty on Tuesday Short, of London Road, West Malling, told magistrates how appalled he was with himself.
The court also heard he is regularly attending Alcoholics Anonymous and had not drunk since the incident.
However, just before sentence was given, probation officers discovered a man of the same name and date of birth had been convicted of a more serious sexual offence at Bristol Crown Court in 2011. But Short said it was not him who had committed that crime, that landed the offender with a three-year supervision order, indefinite Sexual Offences Prevention Order and five years on the sex offenders’ register.
The case was adjourned until Tuesday, October 4.
