Abellio fail to make the cut

Abellio-SFA fielded an eight-man team in the Royal Bank of Canada’s V Series corporate cycling challenge at Canary Wharf. The event took place over four laps of a 1k closed circuit. Abellio won their heat, with Sheridan Bridal leading the team home. Needing to finish in the top-four fastest times, Roly Crayford, Tony Richardson, Russell Crowe, Mark Doxey, Geoff Wiles, Andy Beamon, Richard Bradley and Bridal were sixth overall. Simon Charlesworth was third in the South East Road Race League at Biddenden. In the final mile, a rider managed to get away and Charlesworth chased him down, only to be overtaken by another rider. Father and son Shaun and Matt Williams entered round two of the London Cyclocross League at Penshurst. Matt was runner-up, 12 seconds behind the winner, while Shaun and Phil Harris raced in the 50-plus category, with the former ninth and Harris in the bunch.
