Modell fights back

-

Devon Modell and his Oman Racing Team finished a rollercoaster season by battling to eighth place from the back of the field in the Blancpain Endurance Series finale at the Nurburgring last weekend. Victory and second place in the Pro Am standings were the objectives but the team were forced to reassess their goals when Ahmad Al Harthy was tipped into a spin in a firstcorner collision, tumbling from sixth position overall to 53rd and last. The going was tough on a slippery track but Modell stepped in towards the end of the first hour and drove flat out to claim eighth in the Pro Am classification. Modell and his team-mates ended up fourth in the Pro Am Cup Drivers’ standings, with the Motorbase Performance-run Oman squad sealing fifth in the teams’ classification. Modell hits the road again for an appearance in the VW Fun Cup at Anglesey this weekend.
