Bears find their goal touch as defences have tough time

Bearsted maintained their 100% start with a 7- 6 win at home to Faversham in Under-18 South. A double each for Luke Snazel and Ryan Golding plus further goals by Tom Lindsey, Kieron Patel and a debut strike for Will Richards meant Bearsted eventually took the points. K Sports battled to a 1- 0 win at Ramsgate in the Under-15 East Division. The first half saw a series of chances for both teams with two Sports efforts cleared off the line. At the other end, K Sports keeper Callum Foreman was at his best to prevent Ramsgate taking the lead. During the second half, Sports increasingly imposed themselves and were rewarded when Tom McCarthy headed home Eben Simmons’ corner. The game continued with attacking play from both teams, creating a tense finish but Sports saw the game through. K Sports: Foreman, Cook, Young, Nisbet, Wood, McCarthy, Robinson, Mead, Gabriel, Simmons, Selntigia, Cross, Aston, Murch, Polom, Coleman, Hilder. and opened the scoring in the first minute before the visitors replied on the half-hour. Wanderers responded to lead 2-1 at half-time and they added a third early in the second half. Rainham pressure was rewarded when they pulled a goal back but two late goals ensured a deserved success for Wanderers. Centre-back Luke Smith was man-of-the-match. thanks to goals from manof-the-match Alife Barnes in either half. The under-12 Rangers went down 5-1 against Bearsted Rangers. Ditton took the lead with Louis Barden finishing although Bearsted levelled five minutes before half-time. Bearsted ran in four goals after the break, with Samuel Grant man-of-thematch for Ditton. The under-13s got off to a winning start thanks to a debut goal for Jessie Phillips, a double by Kian Wilkins and a James Dowsett effort. The under-14s took control against Istead and Callum Hudson hit a fine strike from 25 yards put Ditton ahead. Ditton were caught on the break and Istead scored a free-kick late in the first half. With only 10 minutes left, Ditton trailed 2-1 but James de Garis crossed for man-of-thematch Hudson to score with a header. In the final minute, Lee Thompson converted a Hudson flick-on to win an entertaining game for Ditton. Ditton under-15s drew 1-1 at Lenham. They bossed the first half and led through Bailey Driver’s penalty only for Lenham to equalise in the second half.
