They have been here on many occasions and wish to share some of these moments with you in St Margaret’s Church on Saturday, November 12 at 7pm. The three-day Tiji Festival will also be featured in which demons are cast out of the royal capital Lo Manthang. Turfed out: A big thank you to all who helped transform an area of the churchyard into the present tranquil memorial garden. This has been commented on very favourably by visitors and makes the perfect setting for this part of the churchyard. Well done to the chairman and committee of the Friends of St Margaret’s who supported the work and who had the foresight to go ahead with it. Ivy Club: On Wednesday, November 9 at 2pm in the hall of St Andrew’s, Anne Chance will give an account of Across America With a Wheelchair. Do come and listen to Mrs Chance’s inspiring tale. Meeting on alternate Wednesdays this club for the over 60s has a line-up of guest speakers on a wide variety of subjects plus quizzes, games, sales and outings. Choral works: Dido and Aeneas, a comic version of Henry Purcell’s celebrated baroque opera will be performed along with settings of hymns and psalms by Gustav Holst in All Saints Church on Saturday, November 5 at 7.30pm.
