Outrageously orange fun

-

A Maidstone salon turned outrageously orange last Friday in support of Stand up to Cancer. Staff at the Supercuts salon in The Mall invited customers to donate to the cause, which aims to help researchers find cures for cancer sooner. The hairdressers sold wristbands, held a lucky dip, and even gave punters the chance to choose a song to play while they had their hair done. Stylist Sarah Weeks said: “We do fundraisers quite often, and this was good fun again. We’re looking forward to the next thing, but we’re not sure when that will be yet. “We want to thank our customers for their generosity on the day and supporting a good cause.” Money is still being collected, but staff estimate they have around £40 so far. Copy: For the December issue of The Barming Link (St Margaret’s Church magazine) is wanted no later than noon on Tuesday, November 8 at Kathleen Bartholomew, 13 Maryland Drive; (01622 729036).
