Medals galore at final event

Larkfield Swimming Club swimmers picked up 23 medals at the final Medway Championsh­ip last Saturday, with virtually every swimmer posting a personal best event time. Caitlin Calverley won gold in the girls’ 10 years 50m breaststro­ke with a new best time of 47.03. In the same event, Amelia Allen clinched silver in 48.30 and Hannah Shibli was fourth in 50.02. In the boys’ race, Jacob Payne was second in the final in 47.76 to claim silver. Finley Courtier took silver in the boys’ individual medley in 1.22.90, Oliver Moore captured bronze with 1.23.04 and Dominic Traube (1.27.87) was fifth. Tom Calvert won silver on the 19yrs+ 50m breaststro­ke in 38.53 and Nick Rowe matched that feat in the 25yrs+ category in 34.70. The Larkfield relay squad of Caitlin Calverley, Jessica Bonner, Charlotte Carr, Charlotte Courtier, Hannah Knight, Victoria Watts, Rachel Sarkes, Siobhan Sinclair-Strong, Jacob Payne, Finley Courtier, Oliver Moore, Owen Jenner, Carl Bobbett, Owen Price, Joseph Hardy and Stephen Mackie all swam superbly to collect third place and bronze medals.
