Fight finally over for fundraiser

-

A new mum won her first – and last – white collar boxing match after stepping into the ring to raise cash for charity.

Alice Sutchey, 26, from East Farleigh, had just eight weeks to train for the bout held on Sunday, after signing up to the challenge while on maternity leave.

In a close fight, at Gillingham’s Priestfield Stadium, she won two out of three rounds against fellow novice Katie Anderson and was declared the overall winner.

But Mrs Sutchey still burst into tears when she got out of the ring.

She said: “It was so hard, much harder than I thought it was going to be. It was nothing like training. I don’t think I will ever fight again.”

The personal assistant, who is mum to six-month-old Luca, has raised £3,700 for Cancer Research UK. Ultra White Collar Boxing is one of the charity’s biggest money spinners.
