Takeaway crowned region’s best
A Maidstone takeaway was crowned best in the South East at an awards evening in London.
Mexigo in Week Street beat thousands of other outlets, impressing judges with its burritos, homemade burgers and good customer service.
The British Takeaway Awards were held at The Savoy and hosted by comedian Rob Brydon.
Mexigo owner Omer Kivrak said: “We’ve only been open nine months and even to be nominated and get this far was such an accolade. To then get the award is so heartening.
“We spotted a gap in the market, we’ve put our heart and soul into it and fortunately the people of Maidstone have loved it. We cannot wait to share more with them.”
Graham Corfield, UK managing director of Just Eat who chaired the judging panel, said: “Mexigo really resonates with its customers for its great food and excellent customer service.”
