YOUTH: THREE TRIES ARE ENOUGH TO TOPPLE LONDON IRISH

-

Maidstone under-16s beat London Irish 24-20. Irish started the sharper, scoring an unconverted try after just two minutes but Maidstone stayed in touch with three points from an Oli Leyland penalty. A second Irish try put them 10-3 ahead but solid defence by the backs kept Maidstone in the game until the forwards started fully occupying their opposite numbers at the breakdown, allowing forays in to the Irish half.
