For the second consecutiv­e session, the Weald Club, based at the High Weald Academy, Cranbrook, came out on top in the Premier Division in the Horsham National Cadet under-15 League. Weald were represente­d by Arthur Bracken, Tom Down and Shem Lejarde and again finished unbeaten, with victories over Darenth (Sevenoaks) 6-0, Horsham Spinners A 6-0, Guildford 5-1, Horsham Spinners B 4-2 and Graham Spicer (New Malden) 4-2. Bracken won nine out of 10 singles and Down and Shem Lejarde took eight, each losing against Horsham Spinners B and Graham Spicer. Meanwhile, several members of the South East Performanc­e Centre, also based at the High Weald Academy, were playing in the Premier Division of the Senior British League over the weekend. Representi­ng the Harlow club BATTS, Jack Bennett was the player-of-thematch in winning his two singles in their 8-0 away victory over Halton (Widnes). James Smith, playing for London club Fusion, beat Scotland’s Craig Hardie but lost to Colin Dalgeish in their 4-4 draw at North Ayrshire.
