New homes are causing misery

-

It appears Maidstone Borough Council, planning and the government have no regard to the effect and wellbeing inflicted on existing residents where new developments are permitted to take place.

I am currently having to endure the noise, mud, vibration, light pollution and even an abusive workman as 10 executive houses are built opposite my home.

On top of this permission has been given to build a house in the garden next to mine.

And yet more houses are planned in this immediate area.

Such developments are hardly likely to solve the government’s housing crisis. They will create a crisis in infrastructure and sustainability.

Kent Highways department has admitted to me when it is asked to comment on the highways aspect of a planning application, it does not have to consider the impact any highways issue will have on existing residents – those who have to cross a road, drive onto or off the road, drive along one.

This does not form part of its mandate.

So I would advise anyone likely to have nearby development they believe will impact on their lives to object in the strongest possible terms.

Don’t sit back and leave it to others, Object to Maidstone Borough Council, write to your MP, write to the government. Maybe, just maybe, someone somewhere will actually take notice so you will not have to endure the gross intrusion to our environment and wellbeing that I and other residents are currently experiencing.
