Kent Messenger Maidstone

Seth unlikely to make a Stones return

- By Craig Tucker

Jamar Loza is more concerned with keeping Maidstone in the National League than securing a move in the January transfer window.

The former Norwich striker has been tipped to return to the Football League by Stones boss Jay Saunders.

But the Jamaica international is enjoying himself too much at the Gallagher to go looking for a transfer.

He said: “I haven’t spoken to anyone about my future. I do need to speak to the club and my agent and we need to get together to see what’s going to happen.

“I’ve said from the start my main goal was to play full-time because I still need a lot of improving as a player and missing out on those extra sessions isn’t good but, at the same time, I’m enjoying it here.

“Since the first day, I’m loving every minute, playing every game, so it’s going to be a difficult decision.

“There’s no point just leaving for anywhere, especially if I’m enjoying it that much here.

“It has to be the right move but I’m not really looking. If someone comes knocking, I’ll have a listen and see but I’m happy here and are starting to see the best of him, so it would be a shame to cut short his stay just as he’s finding his form.

He added: “Some games I’ve done all right and some I’ve been a bit quiet.

“But now the last few games I’m starting to know what the team’s about, the team’s starting to know what I’m about. Hopefully, we can take that into the next few games and I can play my best.”

Loza is looking forward to back- Seth Twumasi may have played his last game for Maidstone. The right-back has missed United’s last three matches due to his academy commitments in Ghana. There’s also still interest from League 2 Cheltenham, who wanted to sign him around the time he joined Maidstone. Stones boss Jay Saunders said: “Seth’s been away setting up his academy in Ghana. It’s a big thing for him. “The honest answer is I don’t know but he probably won’t be back with us. “I think there is an offer from Cheltenham but this academy is for his future. “It’s a bigger thing for him to set it up and get it right. You’re not a player for ever.”
