It’s all very hush-hush at school

-

Pupils at Loose Primary School had a code-cracking time when they spent the day training to be MI6 secret agents.

The young spies donned dark glasses, trench coats and balaclavas as they navigated their way through puzzles and solved clues on Wednesday, as part of the top secret theme.

The day began with the new recruits receiving a briefing from senior agents before swearing an oath of allegiance. They learnt how to dodge laser beams, memorise a pathway and decode secret messages, with teamwork playing a crucial role.

Stealth and secrecy were key to completing trainee missions as well as adopting disguises and developing secret handshakes.

It was put on for Year 5s at the Loose Road school, which received an outstanding Ofsted rating last month.

A spokesman said: “This was all an exciting introduction to the new term when children will be studying Anthony Horowitz’s Stormbreaker, cryptography in ICT and mountainous terrains in geography.”
