Driver banned

A drink-driver has been banned for 18 months and fined £120 after she was twice the legal limit. Mariam Awad, 40, of Linton Hill, Maidstone, was stopped in St Faith’s Street in the town centre in December and gave a breath test of 72 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35. She admitted drink driving and must also pay £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
