Inquests on hold into men’s deaths

Inquests into the deaths of two men were opened and adjourned at Archbishop’s Palace, Maidstone, on Wednesday.

Paul Meakin, 48, a highvoltag­e cable joiner, was found by his wife suspended in the garden of his Maidstone home on Boxing Day. The hearing will resume on March 21.

Assistant coroner Christophe­r Morris also heard the case of Eric Morris, a former security officer from Wales, who had moved to Maidstone. The 85-year-old died at Maidstone Hospital from a subdural haematoma on December 28.

His inquest will be next month.
