Tests blast across Kent

-

Loud gunfire and explosions were heard across the county on Wednesday from a Ministry of Defence firing range across the water in Essex.

The blasts caused vibrations as far afield as Charing.

The Shoeburyness range in Essex is operated by QinetiQ for the Ministry of Defence. It is used to test weapons and dispose of ammunition. There are wild nights out – and then there’s waking up the following morning with the words ‘Destroyed in Kavos’ inked on your bum.

Holly Fenner, 27, had the tattoo while on her first girls’ holiday in the party resort of Kavos in Greece last August.

The nursery nurse was filmed while having the inking for Channel 5’s Get Your Tatts Out: Kavos Ink, which was shown last Thursday.

The mum-of-one, from Sittingbourne, was drunk when she had the tattoo.

She said: “But you only live once and I don’t regret having it done. I loved the holiday and I had the best time of my life.

“I wondered if people would judge me but no one did as they know I’m usually just a quiet mum, who works hard and has struggled to bring up a child on my own.”
