Injury ends debutant Dunning’s season

PULBOROUGH AYLESFORD

-

New signing Tyler Dunning suffered a dislocated shoulder 20 minutes into his Aylesford debut. The centre has been ruled out for the rest of the season as Bulls battle to pull clear of trouble in London 3 South East. Coach Jay Jenkins said: “That’s him done for the season. It was a bad dislocation. It was a hard tackle but a legitimate tackle. “He’d only just signed. He’s another Army lad. He came along to a training session and registered last week. “We wish him well for a speedy recovery.” Aylesford led after a bright start but the injury hit their momentum as Pulborough’s back three, fed by their talented No.10, came to the fore. The title contenders steadily pulled clear as Aylesford mistakes crept in and Jenkins had no complaints over a result which keeps his side in 11th place. Michael Jackson scored the Aylesford try, with Dion Comerford adding the conversion and two penalties. Jenkins said: “We were fairly comfortable for 20 minutes but it was a well-deserved win for Pulborough. “Their strike runners were good and they had a good No.10 with a good boot. “They played the right type of rugby on their pitch to win the game but we made too many mistakes, too many unforced errors and wrong decisions. Our midfield and defence were poor. “We didn’t pick up the strike runners quickly enough but there were positive elements for us to work on.” Along with Dunning, Bulls are also without Dave Tenters, Jake Lott and James O’Doherty for the home game against Eastbourne tomorrow (Saturday). Jenkins said: “It will be a tough game. We lost to them down there but we’re quietly confident.”
