Ex-nightclub to become a bierkeller

From Beluga Bar to Bavaria, a disused nightclub will reopen next month having been transformed into a German bierkeller.

The 1,150-capacity Bank Street venue closed in 2015 leading to a decline in Maidstone’s night life, with neighbouring Banks Bar calling it a day shortly after and Barker Road’s Wonderland shutting later that year.

A lease for the three-storey building was up for grabs priced at £110,000 a year.

The bierkeller opens on Friday, March 3, with 10 draught and 80 bottled beers available as well as cocktail steins and traditional food. It will welcome punters from Wednesday to Saturday, with live oompah bands performing every Friday and Saturday from 9pm to 11pm.
