Gymnastics champ visits primary

-

When you’re getting to grips with tumbling or aerial cartwheels there’s nothing like having a session from a gold-winning British gymnast.

Fortunately for pupils at Archbishop Courtenay Primary in Tovil, they don’t have to look far to find such talent.

Their visit came from Courtney Tulloch, who lives in Maidstone and trains with Pegasus Gymnastics Club in Tovil.

Courtney, who excels on the rings, most recently won the British Championships rings gold, and was also part of the British team awarded a silver medal.

Now 21, his medal-winning spell started in 2009 at schools championships.

Jessica Flisher, sports teacher, arranged the visit, which involved Courtney hosting an assembly and questionand-answer sessions with the different classes.

She said: “He showed off some of the moves, such as a back flip, and the kids absolutely loved it.”

Children of all ages at the Eccleston Road site do gymnastics as part of PE lessons.
