Victim making slow recovery
Almost two years after he suffered injuries that changed the course of his life, former signalman Doug Caddell says he is still on the mend.
The accident left the husband and grandfather in need of surgery and a long recovery.
After his experience, he asked people to take more care when using level crossings.
Mr Caddell, who travelled from his home in Folkestone to attend the hearing, said: “I am not recovered yet, but I have come back a long way. I still have some residual difficulties but we are working on them.
“I would like to thank everyone who wished us well.”
