Inquest opens on M2 bridge fall

-

An inquest has opened into the death a man who fell from the M2 bridge after a woman was seriously injured in an attack.

The body of Amandeep Garcha was found in the river near Medway Valley Park on February 1, 10 days after police were called to the bridge after an assault in Grafton Avenue, Rochester.

Searches were carried out on January 22 after officers were called to the property and the air ambulance was scrambled.

The woman was taken to King’s College Hospital with stab injuries to her neck, chest, abdomen and arms.

A silver car seen parked on the hard shoulder was later recovered from the bridge.

Mr Garcha, a 34-yearold accountant, lived in Grafton Avenue with his wife Harjinder Garcha.

A full inquest will take place in April.
