Glyn says goodbye to county show
Glyn Charlton has retired from the role of honorary finance director to the Kent County Agricultural Society after nine years.
During his time in post, Mr Charlton was instrumental in transforming the Cornwallis building into what is now the Emson Conference facility.
He was part of the board of directors who instigated the building of the Maidstone Exhibition Hall at the Kent County Show site at Detling, and he took a keen interest in updating the society’s campsite, the Scragged Oak Caravan Park.
Mr Charlton has been replaced by Hugh Summerfield.
Members at the society’s annual meeting made Mr Charlton, from East Farleigh, an honorary vice-president of the society in recognition of his service.
