Two volunteers from a disabled riding centre are hoping they have a head for heights as they embark on a charity challenge.

Michelle Payne and Lorna Woodage have been giving their time to Leybourne Grange Riding Centre for eight years between them. Both help look after the animals by grooming and feeding them, as well as tacking them up ready to be ridden.

To give more support to the Birling Road centre, they are taking part in a charity abseil on Sunday, March 19.

They will descend more than 100ft down the side of a building in Thomas Place, Maidstone.

Mrs Woodage, 50, said: “I am really excited about the challenge and, for me, there is no better reason to do it than to help raise funds for Leybourne Grange. It is an amazing organisation which does so much to enhance the lives of disabled people.”
