King Lear given a modern twist
It’s King Lear, but not as you know it. The Detling Players are to present Shakespeare’s classic this April. But although the Bard wrote his story in 1603, the Players will perform in modern dress and have managed to weave the topical issues of Brexit, old age, dementia and inequality into their performance.
It’s being held at Detling Village Hall on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, April 27, 28 and 29. Tickets are £12 and £10, but on Thursday there is a special student price of just £5. Call 07842 169725.
