Gloom and doom blamed on Brexit

-

I respond to the letter published recently and written by John Cobbett.

More doom and gloom laid at the door of the Brexit vote to leave the EU.

The NHS is, as usual at this time of year, struggling to meet budget targets. Could this possibly be due to more people using the service? Some might say the extra people are citizens of Europe, living and working in the UK.

As to there being a reduction in EU member state staff, who knows, as there have been no negotiations as to people’s status after our leaving the EU club.

There is also a reference to “other commissioning groups” having their patients treated. Surely these groups are also NHS?
