Man died in car on wrong side of M20

-

An inquest heard how a man died when the car he was in was involved in a head-on collision on the M20.

Mohammed Chowdhury was a passenger in the car, which was travelling the wrong way on the motorway in the early hours of last Saturday.

The court heard the car was in the third lane of the Londonbound carriageway, between junctions 4 for Leybourne and 3 for Borough Green and the M26, when it collided with an oncoming vehicle, travelling in the right direction. The 32-year-old, from London, died at the scene. A post-mortem found he had suffered multiple injuries.

Patricia Harding, senior coroner for Mid-Kent and Medway, adjourned the inquest until Tuesday, July 4, but noted that this date would be dependent on the police investigation.

The driver of the car, a 37-yearold from Orpington, was arrested and bailed until Monday, June 12.

Officers want to speak to anyone who saw the Toyota Corolla in the moments leading up to the crash, or who may have dashcam footage. Call police on 01622 798538 quoting reference DB/DM/36/17.
